FOBA has recently partnered with the Chinese Guangdong Transhell Packaging Company, Ltd to mark 2D codes and Chinese characters on aluminium beverage can lids via laser paint removal, seeking to produce marks which were clear and easy to scan by the end-user. The codes, consisting of 31-digit codes within a 7 mm by 7 mm area, needed to be produced in a mere 25 milliseconds, and at a rate of 750 per minute. FOBA’s application engineers found that the FOBA Y.1000 laser’s high speed and high-visibility marks made it ideal for this project.
The Y.1000 laser comes with variable scan head tuning, which allows it to be optimized for high-quality or high-speed purposes. Its compact mechanical design and flexible configuration and interfacing options allow it to be integrated into any production line, and its rugged, air-cooled construction means it requires minimal maintenance, keeping uptime high.
